Can't Boxee access iTunes playlists?

Title says it all. Can't find my iTunes playlists while within Boxee.

boxee is cross-platform, so there is less focus on mac-only features.

plex is mac only, so they only have to worry about one platform.

Software and various formats are not necessarily standard across multiple operating systems. You can't code something for one os and expect it to work everywhere. Plex only has to worry about Macs, while Boxee has to worry about everyone and their unique cases. This puts a lot of Boxee's plate so they have to pick/choose what to support at any given time.

We're basically saying this may be feasible in the future, it's just not possible at the moment.

that wasn't what i mean. what i mean is that boxee does not focus on integration with one vendor's player. (the windows player is wmp, not itunes)

that said, the feature may show-up, at some point. but, i think the team has bigger fish to fry, atm.

Late to this party, but my two cents: lack of any type of playlist support is a major Achilles' heel. I recently set up Boxee in our living room, but my wife is unhappy with the loss of music playlists (mixes I've made her, songs for the toddler, etc.). God forbid we have to revert to Front Row. I hope that any type of playlist functionality (music specifically, but also all media in general) is a priority.

In a similar vain i would like Boxee to act as an Airport Express and be able to stream music from my iTunes to Boxee and have boxee be treated like remote speakers. How about dem apples?

You can do this, Boxee wont know that its being used as remote speakers but music will play through your TV or connected speakers you just wont see any visualisation of music info. This is because Boxee is running on top of Frontrow.
