Hello Folks!
I`m really impressed with Boxee.
As far as I could test it, it has the potential to overpass Front Row in my Mac for good.
There are a few bugs that I could notice while I was testing it, and some suggestions I`d like to make:
Bug 1 - When I was setting everything up, choosing the country, language and stuff like that, I could notice that Brazil wasn`t found in the Country list, but after I changed the language to Portuguese(Brazil) it changed my country too.
To fix: Put Brazil in the Country list (I`d like to say that I`m in Brazil, but I prefer using everything in english.
Bug 2 - After setting my language to portuguese, when I quit and return to Boxee, some text are missing. In fact they are there, but the doesn`t appear.
Changing the language to another one, and going back to portuguese(Brazil) makes the missing text appears again.
Suggestion 1 - On Weather, it would be nice to leave the decision of choosing the unit for the temperature for the user. I know that if I choose Brazil it changes to Celsius but this sux a little.
Bug/Suggestion 2 - As I use iTunes, all my music is organized as /music/iTunes/iTunes Music/artist/album. Boxee could first verify the file ID3 before searching over the net for the info.
And as it searches by the last folder name, sometimes it messes up completely.
I can give an example: I have Paul McCartney`s Unplugged album inside /music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Paul McCartney/Unplugged. Boxee searched the information for Unplugged, found Alicia Keys and suddenly there was Alicia Keys inside my Artist list with its cover and all info downloaded.
WOA! I doesn`t have anything from Alicia Keys and I could not change the information (that was all right on the ID3 tag) to other because there was not Paul McCartney`s Unplugged listed from the source that Boxee use on the Internet.
So, please, if there`s info on the ID3, use it! That would be really really nice.
For this last issue I gave up using Boxee, bacause Music is as important as movies for me.
Bug 3 - I could not listen to my radios on last.fm.
Suggestion - I use a really cool software that goes by the name of TVSHOWS. I reads a feed of released TV Shows torrents and you can "subscribe" a show. When a new torrent comes up for that show, it downloads it for you.
As Boxee has already a torrent client inside of it. Wouldn`t be nice to add this "Subscribe" feature on it?
Suggestion - Would be nice to have a web interface for this torrent client too :)
Suggestion - Would be nice too if we could add or edit the sources for subtitles. Because here in Brazil we use other sites as subtitles sources, and the ones that Boxee uses are not as updated as the major ones we use here.
Suggestion - Would be nice to be able to add users and accept user requests over Boxee interface.
That`s all I can remember for now.
Please, if you guys need any help on translating anything for Brazilian Portuguese, feed free to contact me.
Thanx!
And lets go Boxee!!!!
