My media buttons on my laptop don't change the volume on Boxee. I'm assuming Boxee keeps track of its own volume levels, but there should be a way to change the system levels, if not base the applications volume of the system all together. In general, I leave my laptop on mute because I hate when it makes noise in a building. This poses a problem when I start Boxee and forget to unmute the system.

I was finding that Boxee's volume was not responding on streaming content (ex. Hulu) but that it did in fact alter the volume of local media.
As for the original problem posted...my system volume works fine with my Mac Mini and Apple Bluetooth wireless keyboard...that's how I had to adjust the volume for the streaming content.
(using the latest alpha as of this posting)

AppleTV 2.2
Boxee 0.9.3964
Found the same thing as OctopusInc, Volume control in Boxee worked satisfactorily with local media, but streaming media received line level input. Fine for HDMI into TV, but RCA outs on AppleTV were locked.
I have more input, do you want it here in the forum, or is there a better venue for bug input?

Boxee is the most exciting thing I've seen in a while. I will put it through it's paces, let me know how best to help.
Cheers.
