Ok, I trolled around and found nothing other than using a Touch or an iPhone to control the Apple TV. I don't have either, and I"m not spending $250 for one.

Is there another remote that works for ATV or even a Keyboard?

Or what are the programming codes to program a universal remote control? I have a Sony Wega TV with its own programmable remote I could use so I have one unit for both the TV and ATV.

Or is ATV limited to only its stock remote, Touch and iPhone? Any guidance is appreciated. :D

Any learning remote will work, or any universal remote which has an "iPod", "AppleTV", or "Mac" code set. For instance, my entertainment center's Harmony remote works just fine in mimicking the AppleTV's remote (which works in ATV's Finder as well as in Boxee).

Alternatively, you can have the AppleTV "understand" your remote's language using the Finder's settings menu, but I'm not sure if that will carry over into Boxee (didn't used to, but maybe the Loader devs figured out how to get it working).

The iPod Touch / iPhone apps add another interaction surface, which is much more than just replacing the ATV remote. However, if you don't have such a device at your disposal, the best you can do is to just replicate the little white remote with its six functions in your universal remote.

Tom,

Thanks for the insight. I'll put it to use! :D
