I dont know if this is an announcement at all, but i stumbled over nvida cuda site when i was searching for information on how to use the GPU on apple tv.
I was just searching to find some answers to why apple tv can run 720p files just fine but not boxee.
I dont know anything about programing, but doesnt this release of CUDA make the gpu acceleration on apple tv possible?

Sorry if this is just a shot in the dark, but i really like boxee and i want it to become a full working final so i can use it ever hour of the day :D

Looks like it requires OS 10.5. AppleTV is based on 10.4 ... don't know if it would work but I don't know for sure.

ok, found another intresting hardware acceleration that has an open API.
OpelCL, that is made by Apple.
Does anyone know if this is a way to get hardware acceleration on Apple tv?

If I'm not mistaken, OpenCL is a joint operation not technically owned by any one corporation. Apple has been a pretty big contributor though.
