Everything else seems to be working fine but I can see no music.

Ive tried refreshing the source, removing it, changing it directly to my itunes folder rather than just music but nothing.

Any suggestions?

is your music purchased from itunes? if it's protected-aac (drm) boxee can't play it.

also, what happens when you navigate to:
music > local music?

does anything show up?

No its 99.9% drm free.

I can navigate to the music by going to music > sources > etc

But it doesnt show up in the artists or albums section

Still have no music.

Ive left it for several hours to see if it does its thing but no joy.

Any ideas people? I find it slightly odd that it doesnt just read the itunes xml file.

remember, boxee is cross-platform.

as for your music, what is your naming structure? files names, directory hierarchy?

I too am having music issues on Boxee on the AppleTV (latest build). It is there when I browse directly, but only a handful (maybe 4 of 200) show up in the music library.

But here is where it gets really weird:

If I sit there a bit, it will start indexing a few more albums. They show up in the library and under recent on the main page. But then if I go back a while later, those albums are gone and only the 4 that were there before are shown. A bit later, a few CDs, different this time from the last, show as recently added, and later, gone.

All of the music is on the same share in the same system. None of it DRMed.

It's like the Music Library keeps resetting or something.

@IOIIOOO... is this music stored locally on the atv, or is it a remote share?

Remote share to my Mac Pro.

lets try a test to see if the music indexes..remove the share..
try to erase the library to re-index from scratch settings>general >erase library ... create a new share straight to a few folder of music..leave boxee for a while and see if it starts to index them ..check the recently added section on the home screen for the indication it is working...please note that indexing works in the background so it is better if you just park boxee for a while..

standard itunes organisation

artist folder > album folder > 00songtitle.mp3

Weird.

So I did that. Cleared the library, removed the share, and added a share straight to a folders of an album (one that did not work before). Left the system overnight to reindex, and it indexed neither of the albums.

So I copied two CDs (one that indexed before, one that didn't) to another network share, the one where I have my movies (on a different system) and reindexed. Boxee didn't pick up either of those, BUT it did pick up the one from my music system (the single album share).

So I removed the share to the single album on my music system, readded the share to the entire music collection on that system, and it looks like it is picking up much of the music now.

What's so odd is how inconsistent it is acting in the indexing process.

Well, it seems to be all indexing now after the third library rebuild and third network share add. If it stops again, will repost.

Hi,

I'm pretty new to Boxee &the forum having installed only a week or so ago. All seems fine (and its a great product already!). My main problem at the moment is that I cannot see any local music or photos.

I have used iTunes to sync about 2700 MP3's and about 6000 photos all of which I can see through the standard ATV menus.

However though Boxee I cannot see anything. I had left Boxee on overnight last night in case it was a timing issue with indexing but still nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Lee
