Hi

I finally downgraded my htpc from horrible vista ultimate to windows xp pro. I've a windows vista MCE remote (anyware remote). I want to use this remote in boxee. I followed the information in another thread that used "eventghost" and "mce replacment driver" from mediaport project. However, it seems like this replacement driver is for windows MCE 2005 remotes. So I'm unsuccessful in making the vista mce remote work with Boxee.

Anyhelp is much appreciated.

thanks

I've got an anywhere remote as well.

this one to be precise:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880121002

Its easily the best looking MCE remote out there as they're mostly horrifying to behold.

It does mention the following:
"Will not work with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005"

Your only option at the moment is probably to upgrade to Vista once more since there are no XP drivers for this guy. Even so, you won't get full functionality of the remote and if you by accident hit certain key buttons WMC will hijack your screen in a most unpleasant way and remind you that you are still running windows despite your best efforts not to (currently irritated at this).

D-pad keys and the "Clear" key will get you around within Boxee though and its nice when your iPhone isn't handy or has no charge.

If anyone can hack together full Boxee support for these newer remotes I'd be pretty ecstatic myself.
