Here is something I've been thinking about for a while but finally got around to hacking together. Site lets you submit your repositories (already added the most popular ones), view all submitted, and also view the apps that are in each repository.

All you have to do is type in the URL of your repository and click submit to add. All the info is pulled from your XML files.

Future plans:
-Build an boxee app that lets you add repositories from inside boxee (help!)
-Add some filtering
-Build the support page (How to build a proper repository etc.)
-Have a built in Repository on the site, that lets you submit Files and Info so no more worrying if you built your Repository wrong.

Suggestions?

Very cool ! Thanks. We needed something like this until the Repository section in Boxee itself gets a little more sophisticated.

FuzzGTP,

That is Sweet! Thanks for cataloging them in one place! That rocks!:D

BTW, the www site works for me and I added it to Boxee Windows and ATV.

Boxee should look into using it as the main site...

*Update*
- Got a little frustrated trying to make an app that installed and did the next best thing. Made a dynamic repository that combines all repositories on the site. Now you can my repository (dir.fuzzthed.com (http://dir.fuzzthed.com)) into Boxee and get every app on the site. It updates itself every 24 hours so as new urls or apps are updated, should be good to go.

Let me know if anyone has any problems, I didn't test too deep.

Very nice!

The next frontier is to allow each user to select/store the Apps they want to install into Boxee. Sort of like an OPML feed - or Foxmarks for Firefox when it comes to saving bookmarks.

Really wish the Adult Plugins were made correctly so they wouldn't show when Adult Info is checked to be disabled... I know I'm being picky... Works great though...

I noticed that too.

It's also the case that when the Adult Info is checked to be disabled, once you add a 3rd Party Adult Plug-In, it does not appear in the My Apps menu to be removed!

I've filed this as a bug over on Jira.boxee.com. So it will be on the list of things to fix for the Boxee team.

Now go to your Applications page and see all the new Video and Music apps you can add into your Boxee!

BTW, it is sweet that all of them are in one repository entry!!! That rocks! Some are foreign or won't work in USA, but still nice to have it all in one shot. :D

Adding it to my ATV since it worked nice on Windows.

Agreed. Love the all-in-one repository. Just need to tweak the Adult view issue.

As bmoura mentioned, the devs are aware of the issue and a fix is in the works. :)

the application owner needs to make sure it puts the "rating" tag at the application descriptor.xml
so, for example, porn content applications, are required to have the following tag in their descriptor.xml
<rating>adult</rating>

*FIXED*
thanks for the report. The original owners had the tag in there, but I didnt have my XML script set up to grab that key (didnt know it existed)

shouldnt have any more issues.
Might have to reinstall the apps to get it working.

I added the new Navi-X repository to the all-in-one repository. Now it shows up here: http://www.fuzzthed.com/repository.php

The Navi-X app however doesn't show up in the app library of http://dir.fuzzthed.com/ in Boxee (all the other ones do). How does the all-in-one repository work exactly? Does it mirror the apps or just point Boxee in the right direction?

Fuzzgtp

IThe repository only updates once a day to keep from causing issues in boxee. It does not mirror, it just grabs the XML and rewrites it. Any updates you do should show up within 24 hours. Let me know if they don't.
