RTE Player

Hi,

I have developed, based on the BBC iPlayer for Boxee, a player to mimic what the RTE Player does (Irish Channels Player www.rte.ie/player). It has nearly all the functionality that BBC Player offers.
I was wondering what is the process to make it available to the public ?
Could I host it on the boxee repository ?

A preview of what I have already. As you can see I have a problem with the category and A-Z screen. I need to investigate that issue.

Hi Aledoux,

I was just wondering if this was available to those of us in the UK? Does RTE have much original programming, or is it mostly overseas imports (saw Eastenders + Home&Away in the demo clip). Finally, where can I get it and test it out!

RTE Player is in Beta at the moment and they are publishing mostly Irish shows. Unfortunately they are restricting the shows to Irish Users at the moment like BBC is doing.
As for trying it, I am currently adding support to TV3 and make it a full Irish VOD Player.
I should be done in the next week or so. I am also waiting to see if it is stable enough with AppleTV2.4 and latest Boxee.

Great work, can't wait to try it, have RTE will be the last lynch pin required to wean my family off regular TV.

Was thinking of doing something similar myself. I'm a software developer so if you need help testing it, let me know.

I will be working on it at the weekend hopefully to finalise it.
